Our commitment to you
At Flower Hill Medical, we believe good care rests on a relationship of mutual trust and respect. This page sets out what you are entitled to expect from us as a patient of the practice — and what we ask of you in return, so that we can care well for everyone who attends.
Your rights as a patient
- Dignity and respect — to be treated with courtesy, dignity, and respect at all times, without discrimination of any kind.
- Privacy and confidentiality — your medical information is held in confidence and handled in line with GDPR and our Privacy Policy. Information is shared only where necessary for your care or where the law requires it.
- Clear information — to be given clear, honest information about your health, your condition, the options available to you, and their potential risks and benefits, in language you can understand.
- Consent — to accept or decline any examination, investigation, or treatment, and to have the implications of your decision explained. You may ask questions at any point.
- A chaperone — you are welcome to request a chaperone for any examination or consultation; simply let a member of the team know.
- Access to your records — to request access to your medical records, in accordance with data protection law.
- A second opinion — to seek a second opinion regarding your care.
- To raise a concern — to make a complaint or raise a concern about any aspect of the service, without it affecting the care you receive.
Your responsibilities as a patient
- Accurate information — please give us complete and accurate information about your health, medications, and medical history; good decisions depend on it.
- Appointments — please arrive on time, and if you cannot attend, let us know as early as possible so the appointment can be offered to another patient.
- Courtesy — please treat our staff and fellow patients with courtesy and respect. The practice operates a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive, aggressive, or violent behaviour.
- Your care plan — please follow the treatment plan agreed with your doctor, or tell us if you have concerns or difficulties with it, so it can be reviewed.
- Contact details — please keep your address, phone number, and eligibility details (such as medical card status) up to date.
- Fees — please settle any applicable fees at the time of your visit.
Raising a concern or making a complaint
If you are unhappy with any aspect of your care, please tell us — we would far rather hear about it and put it right. You can speak to a member of the team at the time, telephone the practice on 046 908 5555, or write to us at 72B Flower Hill, Navan, Co. Meath, or by email to info@flowerhillmedical.ie. Complaints are acknowledged promptly, investigated fairly, and responded to in writing.
If you feel your concern has not been resolved by the practice, you may contact the HSE's feedback service, Your Service, Your Say, or the Office of the Ombudsman.
